As a video assignment for CommLab at ITP, Fall 2008, I teamed up with Diana and Cameron to develop a Radiohead-inspired clip of New York City. Diana starred for us, and we shot scenes at Times Square as well as in the subway car. We used Radiohead’s “Everything in its right place” from their album “Kid A”.
Before I made myself clear about what I wanted to do as final projects for ICM and PCOMP to conclude the first semester at ITP, I went through a week of frustration, confusion, and huge depression of not being able to figure out what I exactly wanted.
After I finished my PCOMP class last Thursday, I decided I needed to get away from the “floor” (yes, i-tee-pee) for a while, just walk around the city, refresh my thoughts, and not listen to this weird invisible voice that says “you need to create something cool”, which I always feel floating in the air on the “floor”.
Last weekend I enjoyed a short 3-day trip to Boston. While driving to Boston, I saw such a beautiful autumn foliage with red, yellow, brown, green…leaves. Boston is such a beautiful and clean city. I finally made a transistor circuit worked by myself. I previously asked Todd for help, and he demonstrated an example circuit for me but I never made one for my own. So today I decided to make my simple circuit with a transistor to light LED.
I have been thinking I want to make something fun and playful, like a game, for my ICM and Pcomp finals. I was looking for inspiration, checking Processing Exhibition pages, flipping my old photo images, when I encountered this work called “Mæve” by Interface Design Team of FH Potsdam.
In the end American society chose to be democratic and broke a wall of racism here in the US. Yesterday I was watching live broadcast of election result and found Obama finally, finally won. I was very impressed by his speech that he seemed pretty clear he has tons of issues to solve.
