Today my ITP team presented a concept called “Qurious” that runs on Boxee platform. Qurious is an application that enriches the television watching experience. Qurious knows the actors, songs, products, and topics of whatever you’re watching, and helps you learn more. The concept was well received, and we got a lot of great feedback. We will be showing this at ITP Winter Show 2009.

This posting is for another ITP class called “Designing the Future of TV,” in which students analyze and explore the future of television watching experience (if we will have a such thing called television in the future.) Students work in small project teams of 2-3 and weekly classes cover design methodology and various topics relevant to the future of television such as TV on mobile, social TV, real-time chatting, and emerging devices. At the end of the semester, we get to work closely with Boxee TV, develop a concept for new features and prototype them.
